The orphanage is located between two villages in Central Kenya, about 15 miles from the small town of Kenol. The orphanage sits on an eight acre plot that is long and relatively thin, stretching down from the road at the top to a river at the bottom. The orphanage compound sits in the middle of this plot. It is a picturesque setting with hills on all sides, and many small trees and bushes. During the rainy seasons it is green and lush. There is only one road to the orphanage – a bumpy track that starts at the small town of Huhi (where the tarmac ends).

This placement will give you a true African village experience, quiet, no frills life style in a beautiful surrounding. There are wash rooms, toilets and shower rooms, but no electricity.

WHAT DO MY FEES PAY FOR?

When you join an A Broader View program your financial contribution supports the hundreds of needy communities where our volunteer programs are based.  Donations are helping to stimulate the local economies with coordinator and hosting jobs, with new constructions at local school and orphanage, with much needed medical supplies to under served hospitals and clinics.

ABV works tirelessly year round to support our volunteers, and also to serve the local communities where we are based.  As a tax exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organization we receive 100% of our funding from our volunteers' program fee donations. Your program fee is used for airport pick up & transfer, departure transfer, placement logistics, orientation, food & accommodations, in-country assistance as well as programmatic administrative support and continuity of our volunteer programs.   If you have questions about our program fees email to [email protected] or call us toll free at 866-423-3258.
