In Kathmandu our volunteers support two local children's centers. These programs operate as day care/educational centers for poor children of the community. The centers offer free services for extremely poor families that work in the local factory.
The number of children attending each day often depends, but typically there are 25-30 children each day. One center cares for infants to 3yrs old toddlers. The other placement is older children up to 6yrs old. This is a fun, but tiring placement. Volunteers spend most days chasing toddlers, holding babies, changing diapers, feeding children, some more chasing and helping the staff with the care of these adorable little children.

Volunteers can practice English with the older children, arrrange games, read stories. Prior experience not necessary, volunteers should have a lot of patience, an open mind and a sense of compassion.
