Located on the western edge of Africa is a spectacular but far too often overlooked country called Cameroon. This country is home to some of the most amazing experiences you’re ever going to have, and it’s not just because this country is known as ‘Africa in miniature.’ It’s because you’re going to have amazing mission trips in Cameroon, and you’re also going to love the opportunity to explore this beautiful country entirely on your own. Luckily, you’re going to have time for both of those things at once.
When you’re taking mission trips in Cameroon the first thing to think about is just how you’re going to be able to help those who are currently living in this country. Well, that’s not going to be a problem because you’re going to have the ability to immerse yourself in one of many different types of programs. You’ll be able to help with different areas of their life and support that will make a huge difference in the way the people who live here are able to support themselves both physically and financially.
Improving the health care that is provided in Cameroon is one way that you can make a difference, and you can be of assistance here whether you’re training to become a doctor, you already are or you’re at any level of medical training at all. You’ll also have the opportunity to help with the agriculture and with improving housing, which can make a great deal of difference in the lifestyle of the people here. Improving the community as a whole will also make a great deal of difference and you’ll definitely start to see how these types of volunteer opportunities can make an impact.
Working with children is also an important and highly rewarding way that you can support the people who live here. Street children and orphans are often not able to receive the level of care and education that they need, and you can help to provide that for them. Whether you’re looking to teach classes in English or you’re interested in just engaging with them and teaching them about having fun, you can make a huge difference and you can absolutely have a great time doing it. There’s no reason that you can’t enjoy these volunteer opportunities even while you’re giving back.
And on the subject of enjoying yourself, you’re going to love the opportunity to explore the country of Cameroon. From the beautiful golden sand beaches to the volcanic mountains and from the tropical rainforests to the sprawling deserts, you’re going to have a little bit of everything to look at while you’re in Cameroon and you’re definitely not going to want to leave. In fact, you may want to extend your mission trip a little bit longer once you arrive or you may want to schedule another opportunity to come back. You will definitely remember everything that you were able to do when it comes to your exploration and your ability to give back.
This is a great opportunity to explore life in rural areas in Cameroon, live and work amongst the locals and realize one person can make a difference.

Reviews & Multimedia
I didn’t know what to really expect from this trip. I was excited to be in Buea but was unsure how the kids would respond to me. I loved getting to know all the children. Their kind spirit and smiling faces despite their rough backgrounds was powerful reminds to not take things for granted.
This has been one of the most incredible, yet most heart-breaking experiences of my life. The people here are so welcoming and appreciative of anything at all you can provide them and they love to share their culture.
My three weeks in Cameroon were fantastic. When the school closed I was able to get involved in many other community programs like the woman's sewing club. Cameroon is a beautiful country with a fascinating culture you will learn so much about both the country and yourself during your time. It really was a wonderful experience.
