    Social Welfare Volunteer Opportunities

People all over the world are suffering from social injustices, and every country approaches their problems with unique policies. Our ABV Volunteers' social work programs abroad can bring you a fresh perspective of how to approach things and a better knowledge of what works and what doesn’t. Our volunteer programs help you develop upon your understanding of international social welfare problems, policies, and programs.

ABV Volunteers can use their unique skill set to combat problems in the community head-on in a way that can have a global impact. Our social work volunteer programs are based at nonprofit or government organizations that assist with public outreach and education programs or working with individual clients.

Some of the tasks in these projects include:

    • Working with teen mothers and their babies
Supporting abused women in temporary shelters
Helping afterschool children’s programs in rural areas
Working in a community soup kitchen
      Volunteering with special needs children
Working with community projects on water/farming

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are particularly important for social worker volunteers. Volunteers should be flexible, patient and adaptable to the culture and conditions of the country where they are based.

Take a look at the different opportunities and find out more about how you could help in some big ways.
