I find the work being done here not only admirable, but extraordinary. I was constantly impressed by all the hard work put in each day by the caregivers. To give a child a house to live is one thing and to give a child a loving home is another. The orphanage goes above and beyond to make this a happy place for this to call home.

1. How would you describe/rate the support provided by our in-country Coordinator & staff?
It was exceptional. From the moment we arrived Mr. Wafi and Ms. Agata were so welcoming and informative. They continually strived to see that we were comfortable and receiving all that we could from this experience.

2. What is your favorite memory of your trip?
Each day when the kids get home from school they immediately run up giving us hugs and then ask for one-on-one time with them to do homework.

3. What was most personally challenging aspect of this program for you?
Making a strong connection with the kids, at times I almost felt like I was stranger invading their space.

4. Any tips for future volunteers… (clothing, sightseeing spots, tours, packing etc)
Prepare for cold nights. Sunglasses/hats/bug spray/sunscreen. Long pants. Go on Amir’s boat for snorkeling. Donate blankets, art craft, and donate money.
