Renown for being such a clean city, Moshi is located in the densely populated Kilimanjaro region of northern Tanzania. The city sits in the shadow of Mt Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa.  Moshi is less touristy than Arusha, and has an appealing blend of African and Asian influences due in large part to it being the center of one of Tanzania’s major coffee-growing regions.

You can practically be anywhere in Moshi and feel imposed by the beauty of the mountain. Climbing the mountain is a draw for many travelers as well as the limitless options of safari, wild life spotting, banana and coffee plantation tours and national park tours.

There are also scheduled shuttle buses between Moshi, Dar Es Salaam and Nairobi.  However most volunteers fly to Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) which is about 45 minutes away from Moshi.

*Volunteers need a Tourist Visa to enter Tanzania (US$100) as of 2016 you can get it at the Tanzania airport. *Once in the country all volunteers must apply for a “Volunteer Permit” is US$250. All participants in the Tanzania program must secure a permit to volunteer.

WHAT DO MY FEES PAY FOR?

When you join an A Broader View program your financial contribution supports the hundreds of needy communities where our volunteer programs are based.  Donations are helping to stimulate the local economies with coordinator and hosting jobs, with new constructions at local school and orphanage, with much needed medical supplies to under served hospitals and clinics.

ABV works tirelessly year round to support our volunteers, and also to serve the local communities where we are based.  As a tax exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit charity organization we receive 100% of our funding from our volunteers' program fee donations. Your program fee is used for airport pick up & transfer, departure transfer, placement logistics, orientation, food & accommodations, in-country assistance as well as programmatic administrative support and continuity of our volunteer programs.   If you have questions about our program fees email to [email protected] or call us toll free at 866-423-3258.
