Volunteer review Sami House in Belize at the Orphanage program Dayton University

I really enjoyed this program! I learned so much from the kids, who are all amazing, and everyone working here really deems to care and enjoy their work.

1. How would you describe/rate the support provided by our in-country Coordinator & staff?
Great! Agata, Mr. Wafi and the caregivers were all so welcoming and informative.

2. What is your favorite memory of your trip?
My favorite memory is playing and talking with a little girl who asked me how many pushups I could do. When I said none she showed me how much she could do 7 she was so sweet and cute.

3. What was most personally challenging aspect of this program for you?
I think all of the bug bites. I knew the mosquitoes would be bad I just didn’t know how much I would get bitten. So bring bug spray and clothes with permethrin and citronella sticks. And a bed net just to be on the safe side and leave it as a donation.

4. Any tips for future volunteers… (clothing, sightseeing spots, tours, packing etc)
I would say to pack to prepare for anything bring a couple long sleeves and pants, bring a reusable water bottle.
